Our story
Edler Zain was founded in 2022 to provide financial clarity to small business owners and acquirers by combining personalized advice with the best technology.
Our founding partners both spent time supporting the largest companies in the world with cutting edge technology and resources. We wanted to give small business access to those resources.

Our history
Since our founding in 2022, we have supported over 100 clients in small business M&A transactions. We also support dozens of business owners with their financial and tax needs.
Edler Zain also acquired two CPA firms in 2025 to bolster our team and improve our capabilities to serve our clients.
Our Partners
Mark Edler, CPA
Managing Partner
Mark founded Edler Zain to provide financial clarity to small business owners and acquirers.
Mark started his career at PwC in Philadelphia, supporting corporate clients with complex reporting requirements such as automated tax projections, fixed asset and lease accounting, and automated KPI reporting.
After PwC, Mark spent time in various financial and operational roles supporting small businesses between $1 - $50M in revenue. He provided tax compliance and planning, execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A projects, GAAP audit preparation, and financial controllership activities.
In addition to his financial and tax reporting experience, Mark executed the strategic acquisition of an accounting firm in 2021 for a Philadelphia wealth management practice. He led the company's digital transformation efforts and worked directly with clients to support their needs.
This experience uniquely qualifies Mark to support small business acquirers with the unique challenges of M&A integration.
Maher Abduselam
Partner, Tax Services
Maher Abduselam combines his training in law, finance, and as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to uniquely serve his clients.
Maher's extensive experience, over 10+ years, in mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and compliance, tax controversy, and succession planning, uniquely qualify him to assist businesses, individuals, and families with both their legal, business and tax needs.
Prior to joining Edler Zain, Maher lived in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, and currently in Washington D.C. servicing clients in a variety of industries; most recently at Ernest & Young where he provided technical tax advice and international tax planning services to a portfolio of companies, including Fortune 500 companies.
Since 2019 Maher has focused primarily on small and medium sized businesses (SMB) and their owners. Owner's of SMB face a unique business landscape and are constantly juggling several moving pieces.
For some clients, Maher plays a "Personal CEO" role and helps business owners manage their entire portfolio and holistically assist on legal, finance, and tax issues -- he's typically the first call for most clients.

Sami Rafi
Financial Reporting Services Manager
Before joining Edler Zain, Sami spent the last several years as the CFO of a founder led DTC e-commerce company that scaled from low 7 figures to 9 figures in revenue during his tenure.
Sami has deep experience supporting entrepreneurs in leading reporting, building finance teams, managing cash flow, and preparing companies for financial events like raising capital or exiting via M&A.
